A Vet Practice Specific ‘Wildlife Friendly’ WCB Badge…

We have a very exciting bit of news (a new idea) that came about because of a Vet Practice approaching us…

There was a Vet Practice who contacted the WCB, to ask if Vet Practices could be WCB Holders.  We replied that we couldn’t regulate Practices, as they were already regulated by the RCVS, but their staff could do the WCB KA, to prove their wildlife knowledge, and have certificates to show their clients and followers, to show how wildlife friendly they are.

Recently, the Practice reached out to ask if the WCB had a logo that they could put on their website, to go amongst their other accreditations (like being ‘rabbit friendly’).

After a lot of thought, we came up with this idea (which the Practice, in question, loved & is going ahead with, with 2 of their staff booked in to do the KA in April)…

We created a ‘Vet Specific’ WCB Badge, for Vet Practices to put on their websites.  It just states that ‘at least 2 members of the Practice staff have passed the WCB ‘All Species’ Knowledge Assessment.’

To keep the Practice accredited, the WCB will just check in every 6 months to make sure that at least 2 members of staff at the Practice have passed the KA (perhaps if someone has moved on, another staff member might have chosen to do it, to keep the badge).

This is a bit of a trial, but we’re really looking forward to seeing where it goes & we’re especially pleased that a Vet Practice has instigated it & sparked the whole idea, themselves...
