A Walk Around Of A Home Based Hedgehog Rescue...

When we first started the development of the WCB, back in January 2021, we knew that a big part of what we wanted to do was to unify the ‘Big Rescue Centre vs Home Based Rescue’ divide, that existed: we think that this has now significantly improved since 2022.
Whether you're a big Wildlife Hospital or a very small Home Based Rescue, the standards can be equally high welfare: they just exist on a larger or a smaller scale. Smaller Rescues can have very close working relationships with local Veterinary Practices & Professionals, matching those of the larger Hospitals: the animals in their care get access to the same assessments, medications & even life saving operations.
This video was sent to me just as a random share (as they were in the middle of their WCB Renewal, and they had just had their veterinary visit of their premises) by Hindley Hedgehog Help, one of our WCB Holders. After showing it to others, we agreed that it would be useful to share this video of a walk around of their premises more widely, to show just how well set up & professional a Home Based Rescue can be. (We are going to invite any other WCB Holder who wants to, to also send us a video like this, this year, to add to this blog post)...
