Barrier Nursing...

Barrier Nursing is an important part of wildlife rehabilitation!

Barrier nursing involves using protective gear like gloves, masks, and gowns to shield against infections.

This is particularly important in wildlife rehabilitation as we're often not sure what we're dealing with. We don't have all the background information that pet owners are able to give vets. If a rehabber and their vet suspect a patient has an infectious disease, barrier nursing can be a crucial part of not only improving chances of recovery, but also keeping the other animals in care and the people looking after them safe.
